In a Nutshell...
Project SANDbox is Hopewell Avenue Public School's school council led initiative to create a natural playground that encourages nature play for 200 kindergarten students and 16 preschoolers. The current play structure is dated and has a compacted sand surface that prevents drainage, creating floods and hazardous icy conditions in the winter.
If you, or anyone you know, is interested in contributing to our school project by leading, or joining the fundraising committee, please reach out to us at hopewellsandbox@gmail.com.

Project SANDbox - We're building fun and you can help!
As you may have heard, Hopewell has a big project underway. Your school council has undertaken the "Project SANDbox" initiative to raise $140 000 to renovate the kindergarten yard this summer. It's a huge amount to raise, so we spent last year gathering $90 000 through community fundraisers, grants, and donations.
We had hoped to complete our project this past summer, but like the rest of the world, we've found ourselves on a bit of a detour!
This year brings us a greater challenge to complete our fundraising in a school year like no other and we need your help to get to the finish line! Now more than ever, our kids need a fun, safe, outdoor space to play in.
You can help right now by donating to our CHIMP account:
https://chimp.net/groups/ project-s-a-n-d-box-at- hopewell-ave-p-s
Just $20 for each kid at Hopewell means that we can raise over $14 000. Direct donations are the most efficient way to reach our goal!
It’s time to give the tiniest members of our school a safe, natural playground! One that includes:
· increased Shade
· improved Accessibility
· Natural play elements
· proper Drainage
Feel like lending a hand and getting to know more people from your awesome community? Join us! We need your energy with fundraising and building an amazing new yard! You can email or connect through our social media:

Please donate $20 today and come build some fun with us!

Thank you to everyone who came out for Trivia Night!
Everyone had an amazing time testing their trivia skills at Trivia Night - Paul Paquet was a fantastic host and Live 88.5's Dave Schellenberg kept the night moving along as the perfect MC. Thank you to everyone who donated items for the silent auction. Between ticket sales and the silent auction, the team raised $3000!
A special huge thank you goes to Fran Morrison and her team who organized the night - so much work went into each aspect of the night and the event wouldn't have been so successful without their hours of dedicated work.
Thank you to everyone who bid on the fantastic on-line auction prizes! And of course, thank you to all the individuals and businesses who donated to allow the on-line auction to happen.
The auction raised $1000!! Amazing!
